4 Tips for choosing an Esthetician

Most people desire to have “flawless” skin, however obtaining healthy flawless skin is very possible when you’re consistently using proper skincare products for your skin type of conditions, maintaining a healthy/balanced daily eating plan, and the help of getting appropriate skincare assessments and treatments from a licensed Esthetician and or board certified Dermatologist. As an Esthetician, here are my top 4 tips for choosing an Esthetician that can help take your skin wellness game to the next level are as follows but not limited to 😉

Research and create a list of local Estheticians in your state
  1. Check Google, Yelp, and Social Media platforms for reviews, before and after pictures that show results for the esthetician(s) that pique your interest. Note: a bad review or two doesn’t necessarily mean the Esthetician isn’t skilled or qualified
  2. Check out their booking site and or website to confirm if they offer consultation appointments or if all facial treatments listed on their site come with a consultation. Most skilled Esthetician will usually allow a standard signature facial for first timers to get acquainted with you and your skin first before diving into specific treatment plans.
  3. During your consultation appointment and or first facial visit-be sure to be honest on your intake forms, disclose your skincare issues/concerns in addition to listing the current and previous facial products used and last treatments received from another Esthetician and or Dermatologist. By providing the Esthetician with these details, it helps build trust and a start to a strong client and service provider relations.
Our skin is very delicate and should be treated with care, therefore choosing someone outside of yourself to care for your skin should be taken seriously. Enjoy the process and good luck with finding your very own Esthie Bestie.
